One huge advantage online poker has over live poker, aside from the valuable poker bonuses, is that online poker rooms allow you to play on more than one table at once, also known as multi-tabling. Multi-tabling, for all intents and purposes, is why so many poker players are able to make a living playing online.
Players typically begin multi-tabling after they have been beating their usual game for a while

We’ve all watched the great Daniel Negreanu call out an opponent’s hand. Let’s go back to the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event. Daniel starts the hand with a 7-4 spades in position. (A typical starting hand for him) His opponent, Matt Traudt holds a K-9 clubs. The flop comes 8 hearts-7 diamonds- 6 diamonds. Both players check the flop. The turn is the 10 spades. That gives Traudt the straight.

“…so I got my full house on the turn and the guy gets an 8 of diamonds on the river for the straight flush and beats me.”
How many bad beat stories have you heard? Hang around a poker room for a night and you’ll hear plenty. They will be offered to you. You don’t have to ask to hear them. As poker players, we remember those bad beats vividly. We remember the suit and rank of every street,

Poker is a game of information. To borrow a phrase from 1983 World Series of Poker Main Event champ, Tom McEvoy, “…Poker is not a card game with people, it is a people game with cards.” So how do we gather information about our opponents? The first thing to learn is to not over think it.
Let’s look at information that is a little less intricate than observing how your opponent breathes after he makes

Have you been playing tournaments that you wish you could do better in, or you are doing well and then all of a sudden have a “blow up”? We all feel that way from time to time, and even the best of us will make a misread and loose all of our chips, but that is the nature of tournament poker. Every decision that you make in tournament poker could be the hand that can cost you the tournament. So I decided to

I recently read this post on Rakewell’s PokerGrump blog where he continues along the track of learning poker from things that don't necessarily have anything to do with poker.
A friend had free tickets for any Regal Cinema feature, so we hit the one at Fiesta Henderson to see "Slumdog Millionaire" today, curious as to why such an apparently unlikely movie racked up 10 Oscar nominations. Well, the reason becomes obvious

I recently stumbled upon the step SNG concept through an article I read on a Danish news website. Here a Danish SNG expert, Allan 'Sifosis' Bække, wrote some good tips on winning plays to beat the SNG steps. After investigating the step SNG system in more detail I decided to write a small review about it and include some of Allan 'Sifosis' Bække's tips on how to beat the SNG steps.
After reading about the step SNG concept I came to realize

In this article I will discuss the stage of the tournament. If you have not read the previous articles in this series, please read Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4, at your convenience.
Now you might be wondering why I consider the stage at which the tournament is at to be more important than the cards you may be holding. The reason for this is because your opponents, and possibly yourself, will be playing differently depending on which

I recently read this post on Rakewell's PokerGrump blog and although it is very long I think it touches on some important issues regarding poker. If you are patient and read it through you might come to realize some things about poker you haven't given any thought before.
Being as deeply immersed in poker culture as I am, perhaps it's impossible not to see the game everywhere. I have frequently noticed potential poker
