Betfair is the largest online betting exchange in the world with over 2 million clients and a reported weekly turnover of 50 million pounds sterling. As most other online bookies. Betfair’s headquarter is situated in London and their game servers are located on Malta

The Betfair poker network comes in 17th place out of 32 networks on Poker Scout when it comes to player traffic, and since the bulk of Betfair’s customers are punters you can expect to find good soft games.

What I like about Betfair, is that they offer the whole range of gambling from sports betting to casino to games to poker. Introduction to Poker Nordica

Poker Nordica is one of the leading sites on the shared MergeGaming Network which has its head quarters in Australia and its servers Kahnawake, Canada.

I have played almost every network available and many different poker sites on each network and in my opinion Poker Nordica has one of the nicest software interfaces both when it comes to their lobby and the actual tables.

  1. Clear all cookies on your computer
  2. Create a Poker Nordica account through this link: Poker Nordica sign up

Rather cryptic reply from Party Poker’s player support

Sunday, December 27th, 2009 | Poker Bonus, Poker Tournament | 3 Comments

Yesterday I won a tournament on Party Poker (yes I actually won a tournament!!) and wanted to know if I could withdraw my entire balance, since I recently received a 50$ no deposit bonus there. Perhaps the 50$ bonus would be deducted from my balance before I could withdraw.

I received a reply from Party Poker’s player support and immediately started laughing. Their explanation to my 50$ bonus question is so cryptic, that I have a hard time deciphering what they are on about. What do you think?

Dear Mark,

Thank you for contacting us.

I would like to confirm that you can cash out your entire available balance of 502.57 USD.

As for the *RCCASH50B* you claimed on 19-Dec-2009, it was marked ‘Exhausted’ on 24-Dec-2009 05:46:40 ET as the last bonus amount was lost in play then. Let me still inform you that all bonuses, called ‘Cash Out Restricted’, allow the players to use the bonus amount to play with it. However, there is one restriction. It is that the system would automatically take the bonus amount first. So, at first you had 50.00 USD. In time, it took only from your bonus amount.

The bonus you received would never claim the winnings. If, for example, you have taken 5.00 USD into a game, the bonus would have dropped to 45.00 USD. By winning 15.00 USD from the game in this example, the bonus would be again the maximum of 50.00 USD and 10.00 USD would be winnings that cannot be claimed for bonus recovery, even you if you loose the bonus amount. Then you take another 5.00 USD, but loose them this time- the bonus drops to 45.00 USD, but you still have 10.00 USD available balance.

This goes on either until 250 Party Points are earned or the bonus amount drops down to 0.00 USD. This is exactly what happened with your bonus- it dropped to 0.00 USD and is now considered as lost or ‘Exhausted’. So, no further bonus amount will be claimed back on expiry and there is no remaining bonus amount to release for cash outs.

To summarize, in case you win a game the system would recover bonus amount and it would not use the already available winnings to recover it. For that reason, you had available amount of 22.00 USD at the time the last bonus amount was lost and still the bonus was considered as exhausted.

Last, I would like to promote our excellent Danish support. In order to get in touch with them, please write us directly in Danish and they will reply to you.

In case you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be more than happy to help you.

We wish you a lot of joy on the holidays and a Happy New Year!

Thank you for choosing us as your online gaming site!

Kind Regards,

Petkana

Poker tournament bonus search

Saturday, February 28th, 2009 | Poker Articles, Poker Bonus, Poker Tools | No Comments

This article belongs to the Poker Tools series.

Repeating the same thing doesn’t make it less true, therefore with no further ado, my words of wisdom: “when playing online poker you should always have either a bonus or rakeback deal associated with your deposit or your account. This will maximize your earnings, increase you bankroll and provide a faster route to higher limits.”

For all you tournament players like myself, finding the right bonus for your limit of poker tournament play and poker site  requirements can be a tedious task. Fortunately my buddies at WOSB  (World Online Sports Bookmakers) have created a poker tournament bonus search page to aid you in your bonus hunting (see screenshot below).

On this page you simply enter your preferred deposit method,  jurisdiction requirements, poker network and the amount you wish to deposit and then press “Find best tournament bonus”. The  poker tournament bonus list below is automatically updated to show you the best tournament bonuses available matching your criteria and ranked by the bonus rake back percent (the percentage of your tournament fees that is paid back to you as a bonus).

If you want to rank the poker tournament bonus list by one of the other columns in the table such as “Bonus Amount” or “Bonus Percent” simply click on the column header and the table will automatically be updated.

Remember that some poker sites offer both bonuses and rakeback at the same time. We have a list of rakeback and bonus deals available through the PokerBRB website.

FYI the poker tournament bonus search page looks best when viewed in Firefox, but the people at WOSB have promised me that the IE version will be improved as soon as possible,

SNG (Sit and Go) poker bonus search

Saturday, February 21st, 2009 | Poker Articles, Poker Bonus, Poker Tools | 5 Comments

This article belongs to the Poker Tools series.

When playing online poker you should always have either a bonus or rakeback deal associated with your deposit or your account. This will maximize your earnings, increase you bankroll and provide a faster route to higher limits.

However with more than 357 online poker sites available with their own individual bonus programs, finding the best bonus for your limit and type of play is a daunting task. Fortunately my buddies at WOSB  (World Online Sports Bookmakers) have created several bonus search pages which are a great help for you bonus hunters out there.

The first page I want to mention is the SNG poker bonus search page (see the screenshot below). On this page you simply enter the SNG limit you play, the amount you wish to deposit and other details such as deposit method, jurisdiction and poker network and then press “Find best sit and go bonus”. The SNG poker bonus list below is automatically updated to show you the best SNG bonuses available matching your criteria and ranked by the bonus amount earned per 100 SNGs played.

If you want to rank the SNG poker bonus list by one of the other columns in the table such as “Bonus Amount” or “Bonus Percent” simply click on the column header and the table will automatically be updated.

In many cases it turns out that clearing poker bonuses by playing SNG tournaments is much faster compared to playing cash games and often corresponds to rakeback percentages in excess of 50%.

Remember that some poker sites offer both bonuses and rakeback at the same time. We have a list of rakeback and bonus deals available through the PokerBRB website.

FYI the SNG poker bonus search page looks best when viewed in Firefox, but the people at WOSB have promised me that the IE version will be improved as soon as possible,

You could be posting your articles on the Poker Bankroll Blog. Read all about it here.

Poker bonus back in the days

Thursday, September 4th, 2008 | Poker and Life, Poker Articles, Poker Bonus | No Comments

The story below is a recollection of my poker career since I started playing online poker in March 2005. The title is “Poker bonus back in the days” because when writing my story I truly started missing the good old bonus whoring days.
In 2005 I had already been sportsbetting online since 2004; I had this great system but that’s another story altogether….Anyway in 2004 only a few of the sportsbetting sites offered poker, but the poker bonuses were really good, and since I was already a certified bonus whore (this is actually a known term, so don’t be offended), I thought I might as well check out this game called poker.
I had basically no clue how to play poker, so I googled it (I’m pretty sure google existed at the time) and tried to learn the handrankings. I also started playing with play money at Party Poker. After a month or so I met up with my brother one evening, and we decided to make a real money deposit at Party Poker and instantly received our first poker bonus. I still remember the goose bumps when we were dealt our first hand.
Since we didn’t have a clue about position, how much to bet, pot odds and basically all other aspects of the game, we purchased the Texas CalculateEm poker analysis software and started playing 0,25/0,5$ Limit Texas Holdem. By doing exactly what the program told us to do, we turned our initial 25$ into almost 100$. I guess I have been hooked ever since.
I decided to start my poker career at Party Poker playing Limit Texas HoldEm with the Texas Calculateem analysis program, and deposited 480$ to receive the maximal poker bonus. I also registered for a Neteller account, which made it easy to move my poker bankroll from site to site. After playing the required number of raked hands, I cashed out from Party Poker and redeposited on another site to receive another signup bonus. I continued jumping from poker bonus to poker bonus for some time, slowly progressing to playing without Texas CalculateEm and finally to playing Texas Holdem No Limit.
Some of the poker bonuses were really good back in the days. I especially remember an Expect Poker bonus, where you received a 100$ bonus by depositing 400$. In order to cash out you needed to play 100 hands  (hands, not raked hands…just hands).
I have made a list showing all my deposit, poker bonuses and winnings at the different poker sites I played at in my bonus whoring days. As you can see I was basically a break even poker player who earned his money bonus whoring.
