All In Poker Radio Show 16 – Mark talks Poker skill levels and Harrah’s Brian Grote talks WSOP Circuit
Sunday, August 2nd, 2009 | Poker Articles, Poker News, Poker Pro | 4 Comments
This is the seventh installment of the weekly All in Poker Radio Show resume series I have planned for the Poker Bankroll blog.
The All in Poker Radio show is hosted by Vic Porcelli who is joined in the studio by Big Slick Andy Kazen, The Young Gun Aggressor Craig Hogard and The Insider Cody Duffey. Produced by Game On Network Entertainment the show can be downloaded as podcast at All In Podomatic and listened to live each Saturday through the Team 1380 website.
In show 16 Vic and the guys are joined in the studio by Mark from The Poker Bankroll Blog (Yeah that’s me!!!) and Brian Grote of Harrah’s St Louis.
Highlights from show 16
- Only No Limit Hold’em events from the WSOP will be televised. However, more of the Main Event will be telecast this year than ever before. This means that we will get to see a lot more of the play that goes on early in the Main Event
- Vic should put up his “wooooow” exclamations as a ring or text tone. They are great!
- Full Tilt Poker and Poker Stars recently went head to head to beat the world record for most players taking part in an online tournament. Full Tilt Poker managed 50000 players at a 5$ buyin. Poker Stars beat Full Tilt Poker with 15000 players in their 1$ tournament. Vic played the Full Tilt Poker event and finished in a very decent 2103rd place taking down 30$ for his 5$ buyin.
- St. Louis will be hosting a WSOP circuit event in April next year. WSOP circuit events are held around the US during the year and function as build ups to the actual WSOP event. The main event at the St. Louis WSOP circuit event will be a 5000$ buyin No Limit Texas Hold’em tournament. The event calendar will be published by October 1st this year.
- WSOP classic clip: 2008 WSOP bracelet event. James Aikenhead vs. Grant Hinkle are heads up in the final. Hinkle raises with 10 4 diamonds. Aikenhead re-raises with AK. Hinkle pushes all in and Aikenhead instant calls. Flop is an amazing 10 4 10 and the turn is a 10 giving Hinkle the win.
- Vic and the guys talk poker playing styles.
- I talk about poker player levels and the Poker Bankroll Blog in general.
- Cody Duffey asks everyone to go to the Poker Petition website and give them the support they need. The petition is to legalize online poker in the US.
- Does he have the nuts or is he just nuts? This time we revisit the 2009 WSOP Main Event. Darius Suharto is up against Ivan Demidov (who would late comes in second place after Peter Eastgate).
You could be posting your articles on the Poker Bankroll Blog. Read all about it here.
